Questions and answers
About the game, the story and how to play.
Is it free?
Yes. Create an account and play. There is no shop and nothing to buy; donations are optional and unlock nothing.
Do I need to know the Bible?
No. The game begins on an ordinary day at the nets, and you learn the story as Simon did, one day at a time. If you know the Gospels, you will recognise every scene; if you are simply curious about Jesus, or enjoy history and role-playing games, you are just as welcome.
What do I need to play?
A computer with a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari that supports WebGL 2. Keyboard and mouse work best; phones and tablets get touch controls. There is nothing to download.
Is it a Christian game?
Yes. It tells the story of Jesus as the Gospels and Acts record it, through the eyes of Simon Peter, and quotes the Bible word for word. It invites you into the story rather than lecturing you about it.
How accurate is it?
Places, food, work and coins follow first-century Galilee as closely as we can manage, and Jesus speaks only in quoted Scripture. Daily life and conversations are filled in by the writers: it is a game, not a scholarly reconstruction or a replacement for the Bible.
Which Bible does it quote?
In English, the World English Bible. Every other language quotes a classic translation of its own: the Glück Bible in Latvian, Reina-Valera 1909 in Spanish, the Luther Bible of 1912 in German, Louis Segond 1910 in French, the Riveduta of 1927 in Italian, the Gdańsk Bible in Polish, the Bíblia Livre (Almeida’s translation, updated) in Portuguese, the Synodal translation in Russian and the Kulish and Puluj Bible in Ukrainian.
Is there magic?
No. There are no spells, monsters or classes. Simon gets better at fishing, building, cooking and the other work he does. The wonders of Jesus are part of the story, shown with reverence, and never a power the player uses.
Is there fighting?
Some. Wild animals can be hunted, and predators fight back. Simon may defend himself against robbers, but striking anyone else is a crime with consequences. No one is ever killed: a person who falls only faints. The game is for players aged 18 and over.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, on your account. Log in from any browser and Simon is where you left him.
Which languages?
English, Latvian, Spanish, German, Russian, French, Portuguese, Italian, Polish and Ukrainian. Choose one with the flag at the top of the page, or in the game’s Settings.
Can I play someone other than Simon?
No. The game is Simon Peter’s story. The other apostles are in it as the people around him, in the quests and on the road.
